Can mold in my home make my family sick?

Mold affects everyone differently

One of the most common questions I get when I look in a mold report is:A- Are we going to be sick? And B-How are we going to be impacted?

It's really hard to determine on an individual basis how each individual is going to be impacted by the mold.

To understand this, let me tell you my experience. I got started in this business in 2012 because my son was impacted negatively by some mold that was in our house. He had respiratory issues, had to have nebulizer treatments and take steroids to help him breathe. At the time we didn't know there was mold on the interior wall of our attic adjacent to our son’s bedroom. My other son, who was 7 at the time, had no symptoms of mold exposure even though he was living in the same room.

Given my personal experience I have witnessed how hard it is to determine A -who's going to be impacted and B- how severely the impact will be.

Just like people with seasonal allergies, each person’s immune systems are very different. It's hard to determine how mold exposure will affect an individual.
